Easter Cake Pops

Cake pops are a fun, easy, and yummy project!!  The kids absolutely love them, and they can be customized for any holiday...we made Easter ones today!  These would also make yummy treats for birthday parties.  Here are the super easy directions:

1.  Bake a boxed cake following the instructions on the box.

2.  Crumble (yes, I said crumble) the cake up in a bowl

3.  Add a tub of frosting and mix with a spoon.

4.  Roll your concoction into balls (or you can make Easter egg shapes).
5.  Using Wilton Meltable chocolate melt the chocolate according to package directions.

6.  Dip the lollipop sticks in chocolate and then insert halfway into the cake balls.
 7.  At this point, I put the cake pops in the freezer for 30 minutes to harden.
8.  Melt more chocolate and dip the balls into the chocolate.  Hold upside down to let excess chocolate drip.

9.  If you are going to decorate you need to do so immediately before the chocolate harden.  I stuck my pops in a cardboard box with holes poked in it to dry.

Once they are completely dry you can put them in bags and tie with ribbon.  I used Wilton brand bags but plastic sandwich bags work just as well.
